Why am I writing about sexual health?
I was asked that - answer: someone needs to. Who? I am a prenatal and lactation consultant and sexual health is in my scope of practice.
Ask a medical doctor and if you are male you might be given Viagra instead of being told you have early stages of cardiovascular disease and should focus on improving that and improved sexual health would follow.
If female you might be told that your sexual health or happiness is not part of the doctor's job - I was told that somewhere around my Prozac/Celexa years. Eventually I asked what he did do. “I am a medical doctor, I prescribe medicine.” Oh. I was seeking health care guidance. My mistake. I found a new doctor.
True informed consent about a medication should include information about non medication or other treatments and no treatment and what the risks or benefits of each option may be. A medical doctor ideally is supposed to know about the full range of treatment possibilities, for referral purposes at least, not just medications.
Should we talk to the media about sexual health?
Trans policy changes at a YMCA led to a 30 year member being banned because she got triggered and verbally upset when she realized she was showering naked in a room with a male in a woman's bathing suit and he was watching or helping several young girls remove their suits. Police were called and a report was filed by the woman and the facility. She is banned. The YMCA did not respond to questions. She verbally identified herself as female gender and very uncomfortable by the presence of a male while she nude.
My over 80 year old mother doesn't like to have any skin showing besides her hands and face - for herself or her spouse. Nudity makes her uncomfortable now (he likes bare feet and feeling the cool air).
Whose comfort or discomfort should count the most?
The article discusses it from a legal view - the gender law protects the 80 year old woman in a public place, not just a staff member who identified as male and can use the employee showers.
Or grade school counselors?
They may suggest changing genders or starting birth control without consulting parents.
Some college career counselors may now include guidance for sex work. (Would need to find the reference).
Should we watch porn or read porn site health blogs?
Sexual health topics are now included on some porn sites - is that the place people should learn about sexual health? (In my opinion, probably not, what little I have seen looks very faked or very abusive and humiliation for the females.)
Celibate priests? Other religious leaders?
It isn't just a spiritual topic and the Bible does clearly state “Go forth and multiply” - okay, but how exactly?
Academics?
The academic article about movement by women during intercourse concluded with a statement that “someone” should teach women how to move during sex. My jaw did drop, double take, did I just read that? Yes. Check the authors - men? No, it was two women and a man I think.
“Someone” is needed.
The risk is the stigma. The topic is so taboo that no one is allowed to talk about it except in derogatory jokes. Marital sex is negatively joked about in TV shows and dating tends to go badly for singles. Very few shows portray a happy couple who just enjoy each other and support each other.
Health is not something to joke about.
Making babies is serious.
Making drunk sperm babies is something men need to stop doing. It takes 74 days to grow a sperm. How many days was that sperm drunk? The DNA is damaged and may be a casual factor in having a child with ADHD later. (Series on my other Substack).
Scoring on women is just a sport for some and women and girls do need to be cautious but both or any gender/sex needs Vitamin D, magnesium and other nutrients to be able to have safer sex and reduce the risk of developing new autoimmune diseases. Beautiful healthy tans are attractive because it indicates good vitamin D status. Fake tans no longer indicate a good vitamin D status.
Not talking about sexual health allows unhealthy practices to continue.
Break free.
Written on my phone.
Peace be with you.

"Ask a medical doctor..." is one of the most over-rated suggestion or advice there is. Ask anyone who did some reading and had long-term dealings with them and you will be told that even many "specialists" don't know how to really treat some problems. Ask Elon Musk. After he was nearly whacked due to his quacks inability to diagnose malaria after a battery of tests, he has been leery of "experts". Look at history.
And now c19 has exposed them for anyone to see.
