Hello new subscribers
I have been inactive on this Substack for a while even though I meant to write here more often too. My main writing happens at deNutrients - News to Use with health and other topics.
While polyamory genetics is still a firm belief of mine, it's science! 😄, society doesn't handle polyamory well based on varied feedback I have received over the years. Some very directly stating that men can't handle it. A culture starts getting unbalanced as females are clustered into groups with fewer males. Mixed polyamory with varied groupings, as is happening in some US circles, is not typical.
Females and males can balance each other well, each providing needed support and emotional or physical resources.
I have a lengthy webpage, on my site effectivecare.info, that has a section on the genetic differences between monogamy and polygamy and pair bonding. The site is focused on effective healthcare but also effective policy writing that takes into account our human instincts and innate behavior patterns. Better policies for business or other needs won't conflict with our gut instincts and basic human values.
I bring in examples and references about anthropology and ethology - the study of human or animal group and individual behaviors.

The genetics of prairie dog type critters was found to vary in the amount of oxytocin or vasopressin that is released between bonded partners when comparing a species that mated monogamously with species that mated with more than one partner over time.
The more monogamous species was the one with a genetic change with extra copies of a gene being present. This was found to match differences in humans too. We have a 60/40 split roughly leaning towards the monogamous genetics for 60%.
In human social research, more monogamous feelings were also associated with being more willing to sabotage on the behalf of someone who seemed similar in some ways to the survey respondent. Then is monogamy more trustworthy, or just more trustworthy to take sides even if that is wrong?
The original polygamy genetics may have been more oriented towards fairness to the group and group survival.
